The Lincolnshire League representative side secured a thrilling victory over the Midland Football Combination on Saturday.

Led by Boston United Reserves boss Glen Maddison, the Lincolnshire team battled their way to a 4-3 extra-time victory at Bromsgrove Sporting.

United’s Tom Sergeant (penalty) and Liam Ogden were both on the scoresheet as Lincolnshire led 2-0, trailed 3-2 before grabbing a late equaliser to take the match to extra-time.

Scott Wilson and an own goal completed the scoring — while United’s Andy Hewitt saved a penalty as the drama unfolded in Worcestershire.

The Lincolnshire League side, which also contained United players Scott Dawson, Ryan Barker, Richard Jackson and Steve Lovett, will now entertain the Cheshire League on Saturday February 18.

Lincs League (4-4-2): Andy Hewitt; Luke Barwick (Steve Lovett 75), Scott Dawson, Ryan Barker, Lee Llewellyn; Liam Ogden, Ollie Johnson, Richard Jackson, Liam Papworth (Nathan Smith 70); Tom Sergeant, Luke Hollingworth (Scott Wilson 55).
