Thompson, who is now first team coach at npower League 1 side Sheffield Wednesday, successfully guided the Pilgrims to safety in their first Football League campaign — and he will appear as the club’s United Legend for the visit of Bishop’s Stortford on Tuesday night.

He will enjoy a pre-match meal with match sponsors Boston Target and be introduced to the crowd (on-pitch) at half-time.
