United gunning for fourth straight home win

United gunning for fourth straight home win

Craig Singleton27 Oct 2011 - 18:42

Boston United will chase a fourth straight home Blue Square Bet North victory when Colwyn Bay visit The Jakemans Stadium on Saturday.

On the back of successive victories over Hinckley United, Droylsden and Workington, the Pilgrims will be looking for more success against mid-table Colwyn Bay (kick-off 3.00pm).

The two clubs, who have not met competitively since 1998, are currently separated by five places and three points and United know that a victory could take them into the final play-off place by the end of the day.

At least one change will be forthcoming from United, with midfielder Craig Armstrong having moved on to join Evo-Stik Division One South side Hucknall Town in a player-coaching role.

Alan White is suspended for accruing five yellow cards, while Lee Canoville is a fitness doubt (hamstring).

The likes of Chris Hall and Ben Milnes are the favourites to replace Armstrong, while Kevin Austin could start if Canoville is deemed unfit.

The last meeting between the Pilgrims and the Seagulls took place in April 1998, with Martin Filson’s goal sealing a 1-0 home win for United.

Saturday’s match referee is Glen Hart and supporters not in attendance can follow all the action on United Live.

Fancy a flutter with league sponsors Blue Square? The online bookmaker has the Pilgrims as 4/5 favourites on Saturday, with Bay at 5/2 and the draw on offer at 13/5.
