Boston United’s newcomer was delighted to mark his much-discussed comeback with a goal — but was disappointed to see the Pilgrims tumble off the FA Trophy trail after a 4-2 defeat at Dartford.

Weir-Daley bemoaned United’s defensive frailties and targeted a better showing against Nuneaton Town on Saturday.

The 26-year-old also reflected on a frustrating spell away from The Jakemans Stadium.
