Bunce completes double keeper signing

Bunce completes double keeper signing

Craig Singleton2 Jul 2012 - 14:20

Boston United Reserves boss Martyn Bunce has bolstered his goalkeeping options for the 2012-2013 season.

Former Gainsborough Trinity keeper Michael Emery has agreed to join Bunce’s squad ahead of the new campaign and he will be joined by youth team stopper Sam Vince.

Emery, 21, made a handful of appearances for Trinity in Blue Square Bet North last season following his switch from Skegness Town and he has now agreed to sign for the Pilgrims in pursuit of regular match action.

Vince, 16, has stepped up from the club’s Centre of Excellence and is expected to feature extensively for the youth team in 2012-2013 in addition to being part of Bunce’s second string squad.

Bunce himself is a former goalkeeper and was delighted to secure the signatures of Emery and Vince for Lincolnshire League action.

Bunce told bufc.co.uk: “Michael is highly-rated and has stepped down from Blue Square Bet North to kick on again. He will play regularly and he is aiming to push on towards the first team squad.

“Sam is a real talent and he will feature during the course of the season. He is only 16 though and we will treat him carefully.

“I am delighted to have two talented keepers onboard for the new season.”
