Boston United and Altrincham go head-to-head at The Jakemans Stadium on Saturday in the National League North promotion final.

York Street's last-ever match (kick-off 3.00pm) could not be a bigger occasion and, despite being played behind-closed-doors, will see the winners promoted to the National League alongside either Weymouth or Dartford from National League South.

Craig Elliott's Pilgrims overcame Gateshead 5-3 in a semi-final thriller last weekend at the same time the Robins were triumphing 2-0 at York City, having secured a 3-2 eliminator victory over Chester FC the week before.

United expect to have a full squad of 20 available for the promotion final, with Jordan Thewlis and Jake Wright both on target in twice in the win over Gateshead.

The only meeting between Boston and Altrincham during the Coronavirus-curtailed regular season culminated in a 5-0 United win last August.

Should the promotion final be level after 90 minutes, the outcome will be decided by penalties.

Saturday's match referee is Adam Herczeg, who last took charge of the Pilgrims at Spennymoor Town in November.
