Vince, who does not turn 17 until June, played in Tuesday’s Lincolnshire Senior Shield final victory over Gainsborough Trinity and made two excellent saves to deny Paul Connor and Josh Batty either side of the interval.
Greene confirmed afterwards that Vince will be his back-up goalkeeper for the 2013-2014 season.
“I was very proud of him,” Greene told bufc.co.uk. “He was absolutely fantastic.
“He made me laugh at half-time by saying that the fans behind the goal were giving him some stick but he is going to have to get used to that when he becomes a first team keeper.
“What he showed me, even at his tender age, is that next year if I need to call upon a goalkeeper I know he will not let me down.
“Like Charley (Sanders) did in the first couple of games when he stood up and became a man, Vinno did that and at 16 he has a really bright future ahead of him.”
