Boston United Positive Pilgrims were back in action on Sunday October 20.

The day as a whole was again a huge success, with all three teams playing and conducting themselves in the right manner, which is very pleasing according to inclusion officer Lewis Wright.

The under-16s had two teams to play on the day — Horncastle and Lincoln City. Unfortunately both those sides only had five players, which meant games had to go from being seven-a-side to five-a-side.

The under-16s showed some fantastic attacking play in all the games with the team chalking up two wins and two losses. The losses came against Lincoln City (3-0 and 4-0) while the wins came against Horncastle with the first game ending 3-1 and the second ending 3-0.

The Positive Pilgrims ‘league’ side saw many players return to action after injuries which strengthened the team. Their first game saw the ‘league’ side defeat Scunthorpe 1 by a 4-0 margin and they then went on to play against Lincoln City which saw the ‘league’ side gain a 1-0 victory.

After a lengthy break, the ‘league’ side showed no sign of taking their foot off the gas as they won their next game 5-0 against Orby and then recorded another 5-0 win against Scunthorpe 2. The ‘league’ side wrapped up the day with a very tight encounter against Grimsby Town that saw the game end in a 1-1 draw.

The Positive Pilgrims ‘championship’ side continued where they left off from the first festival with a 1-0 victory over Grimsby Town. Once again it was a very close game that could have gone either way. Their second game saw them see off Lincoln City 2 by a 3-1 scoreline.

After a short break, the ‘championship’ side’s momentum was halted when Gainsborough held them to a 0-0 draw. After that game the ‘championship’ side never got their momentum back and finished those last two games off with defeats — losing 2-0 to Lincoln City 1 and 1-0 to new team West Marsh.

The Positive Pilgrims’ next outing is on November 24 at Carre’s Grammar School in Sleaford.
