Preview - Aldershot Town

Craig Singleton12 Sep 2024 - 16:57

Boston United welcome first time opposition to the Jakemans Community Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The Pilgrims play host to Aldershot Town (kick-off 3.00pm) for the first time in a competitive fixture. Two pre-season friendlies were played between the sides in 1999 and 2000.

United will be aiming to bounce back from Tuesday evening’s 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Hartlepool United, which they led courtesy of Jacob Hazel’s fourth minute goal.

Tommy Widdrington’s side have opened the campaign with three wins, two draws and three defeats from their opening eight fixtures.

Aldershot have been beaten on the road by United’s fellow promoted sides Braintree Town and Tamworth – drawing at Ebbsfleet United in midweek, in addition to picking up a 1-0 win at FC Halifax Town.

United will be without suspended midfielder Jordan Richards for the third match in a row.
