The Pilgrims make their first return to the Derbyshire venue following the epic National League North play-off semi-final in April 2024, which United won on penalties.

While United have since been enjoying two seasons back at Step 1, Alfreton suffered relegation to Step 3 at the end of last season and will be playing in the Northern Premier League in 2026-2027.

United boss Paul Hurst will have a second opportunity to see his new-look squad in a match environment, although Ben Grist, Kai Mauro, Dylan Hill and Gavan Holohan will not feature due to a variety of injury concerns.
