United head north, chasing their first-ever victory at Brunton Park, having lost 5-2 in Cumbria in October’s Emirates FA Cup tie between the sides.
The Blues also nicked a last-gasp 2-1 win at the Jakemans Community Stadium in November – ensuring Mark Hughes’ side have enjoyed the upper hand over the Pilgrims so far this season.
With Paul Hurst now at the United helm, the Pilgrims will hope for a change of fortunes against a Carlisle side who look set to finish the season in third place behind runaway pair Rochdale and York City.
Hurst could involve Lenell John-Lewis, who has already scored twice against the Cumbrians this season, while fellow striker Jacob Hazel is nearing a return after 11 months on the sidelines.
Zak Mills, Jacob Scott and Dylan Hill are all nearing returns too – but Jordan Cropper will play no further part this season.
