The Shay will provide the backdrop for Hurst's first match at the United helm since March 2011 against Harrogate Town – as he and Chris Doig attempt to ignite the Pilgrims' quest to climb the National League table (kick-off 3.00pm).
Halifax have enjoyed a strong run of form, particularly on home soil, while the Pilgrims have lost only four matches away from home this season – including only two since the end of August.
Hurst will assess his selection options ahead of kick-off – with Matty Carson and Marcel Lavinier both available after signing contract extensions.
Lenell John-Lewis, such a trusted lieutenant of Hurst, could lead the United line in West Yorkshire.
Last season's corresponding fixture, as all three meetings between the clubs have since United regained their place in the National League, ended 1-0 to the Shaymen.
