Steve Cotterill's side are one of the favourites for a swift return to the EFL and opened the campaign with a 3-3 draw at Aldershot Town, having trailed 2-0 early on before leading 3-2.

For United, meanwhile, it will be another opportunity to record their first points after the first day reversal to Rochdale.

Ian Culverhouse's definite absentees are goalkeeper Jake Lovelace (groin) and defender Kieran Coates (eye).

United are unbeaten in four previous league meetings against Forest Green – with home encounters ending 0-0 and 6-1 to the Pilgrims.
