Preview - Gainsborough Trinity

Craig Singleton14 Oct 2024 - 13:52

Boston United and Gainsborough Trinity reconvene at the Jakemans Community Stadium on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).

The Emirates FA Cup fourth qualifying round replay will decide who reaches the competition proper, following Saturday's 2-2 draw at The Northolme.

Pemi Aderoju's last-gasp leveller forced the replay on Tuesday – after Aaron Braithwaite's red card for Trinity had prolonged stoppage time into a seventh minute.

United boss Ian Culverhouse will select from a similar squad, with a check made on the fitness of midfielder Keaton Ward, who missed Saturday's original tie through illness.

Should Tuesday's tie end all-square after 90 minutes once again, the match will head to extra-time and potentially penalties.

Trinity's last competitive visit to Boston unfolded on Boxing Day 2017, with Craig Elliott's side winning 2-0 at York Street.
