Preview - Gateshead

Craig Singleton9 Feb - 21:01

Boston United will aim to win three matches in a row for the first time this season when they entertain Gateshead on Tuesday (kick-off 7.45pm).

Paul Hurst’s side, fresh from victories over Boreham Wood and Sutton United, prepare to host Rob Elliot’s Gateshead side who currently find themselves bottom of the table.

The Heed, who have lost their last 11 encounters in the National League, have showed marked improvements in Elliot’s three matches at the helm – against Tamworth, Rochdale and Hartlepool United. United were 3-1 victors over Gateshead in the reverse fixture in October.

Gateshead have been inactive for three weeks following a string of postponements and their new-look squad includes ex-Pilgrims Brad Nicholson, David Ferguson, Keaton Ward and Billy Chadwick.

United boss Hurst will check on the fitness of midfielder Greg Sloggett, who was substituted during Saturday’s win over Sutton after taking a knock.

He will also determine whether Alex Lankshear and Frankie Maguire are fit enough to return – following Marcel Lavinier re-emergence into the squad against Sutton.

The match will be shown live on National League TV.

BBC Radio Lincolnshire full-match commentary, courtesy of Dale Storey and Peter Costello, is available online.
