Preview - Gloucester City

Craig Singleton12 Aug 2022 - 09:38

Boston United are on the road in National League North for the first time this season when they head to Gloucester City on Saturday afternoon.

The Pilgrims head to the TigerTurf Stadium at New Meadow Park (kick-off 3.00pm) in their opening away fixture of the campaign.

While United were suffering a chastening 5-3 opening day defeat at home to Southport, the Tigers were beaten 3-1 at Darlington – finishing with 10 men following Tommy O'Sullivan's red card.

All eyes will be on manager Paul Cox's team selection – with United attempting to bounce back from being 5-0 down inside 57 minutes against the Sandgrounders.

Jordon Crawford will be one of those players targeting a starting berth – having netted twice in an eye-catching cameo from the bench against Southport. Striker Jordan Burrow remains United's only definite absentee.

Both previous visits to New Meadow Park have ended 0-0.
