Preview - Hartlepool United

Craig Singleton2 Sep - 09:28

Boston United will go in pursuit of their second away win in the National League on Wednesday when they make the long trip to Hartlepool United.

Fresh from the weekend's 700-mile round trip to face Truro City, the Pilgrims will now undertake a 330-mile return journey to visit Victoria Park (kick-off 7.45pm).

United's opening success at Aldershot Town has been followed by disappointing defeats on the road at Eastleigh and Truro.

Hartlepool are unbeaten – with three wins and three draws to their credit, having only conceded one goal in the process.

Whether any of United's walking wounded are determined to be fit enough to return at Pools remains to be seen, with Jordan Cropper (hamstring), Zak Mills (hamstring), Frankie Maguire (knee), Liam Waldock (knee) and Kieren Donnelly (groin) joining long-term absentee Jacob Hazel (knee) on the sidelines.

Last season's corresponding fixture ended 4-1 to Pools, who completed a double over the Pilgrims in the process after a 2-1 midweek win at the Jakemans Community Stadium early in the season. Hazel was on target in both games for the Pilgrims.
