United will travel to Boundary Park to face former Premier League opposition for only the third time – following two meetings against Swindon Town in 2006-2007.
Micky Mellon’s side have lost only twice so far in the National League this season – while the Pilgrims will be aiming for back-to-back wins under Graham Coughlan.
Coughlan saw his side emerge as 3-1 victors over Braintree Town at the weekend – at the same time Oldham were inactive due to a late postponement at Rochdale.
United have a near full-strength squad to choose from, with the exception of goalkeeper Cameron Gregory and defender Mitch Roberts.
The only previous meeting between the sides unfolded in 1952, with the Latics winning 2-1 in the FA Cup.
