Daniel, 22, was seriously injured in an RTC on the morning of Saturday February 19 – and remains in Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham.
Speaking in Club 85 after the final whistle on Saturday where he picked up the man-of-the-match award, Shiels said: "I would like to dedicate that win to Daniel.
"He is popular in the dressing room among the lads and we are all thinking about him at this tough time."
Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to Daniel, his family and friends. We wish him a full and speedy recovery – and hope he is back with us soon.
The club will make no further comment at this stage to protect the privacy of Daniel's family.
