Sleath bids fond United farewell

Sleath bids fond United farewell

Craig Singleton15 Jun 2012 - 08:23

Departing Boston United midfielder Danny Sleath has reflected on his successful spell with the Pilgrims.

Sleath has agreed a deal to join newly-promoted Nuneaton Town and move into the Blue Square Bet Premier.

But the 25-year-old, who scored 19 goals in 137 appearances for the Pilgrims, admitted that he is sad to leave such a ‘great club’ in United.

Sleath told bufc.co.uk: “The last three years of my football career have been very enjoyable and I would like to thank everyone involved in the club for supporting me during my time at Boston.

“I would like to think I have contributed to the club’s success over the last few seasons and although I will no longer be directly involved with the club, I hope they go on to greater success in the future.

“It is sad to leave such a great club as Boston United but the opportunity to play at Conference level is something I could not turn down and I am excited about the new challenge in my life.

“I am overwhelmed by the support I have received from the fans during my spell at the club and their good wishes over the last few days regarding my departure.

“Similarly the understanding shown to me by the current manager is very much appreciated.

“I will miss working with some great people and wish the club all best for the future.”
