Boston United manager Craig Elliott is excited to be working with new recruits Loick Ayina and Milan Lalkovic.

The duo both made their debuts against Hereford FC on Saturday - with Huddersfield Town loanee Ayina (18) playing 90 minutes and 28-year-old Slovakian winger Lalkovic appearing as an 81st minute substitute.

Ayina signed on a month's youth loan on Friday - while Lalkovic had been on United's radar for a while but had been awaiting international clearance, having last turned out for Pribram in the Czech Republic.

"I am really thankful (to Huddersfield Town)," reflected Elliott. "I went through to watch their B team game, but Loick was training with the first team instead, so I got chance to watch him involved against Championship players. Hopefully we can develop their player over the loan spell.

"We had been waiting for the clearance but it's good to get Milan onboard. He's a good age, with great experience, and he's that winger we have needed to add to Joe (Leesley) and Fraser (Preston)."

Ayina's arrival compensates for the loss of injured defenders Luke Shiels and Jake Wright Snr (both hamstring).

Hull City full-back Jake Leake and Grimsby Town midfielder Luke Spokes, meanwhile, have returned to their parent clubs. The duo made nine and six appearances respectively and depart with the club's best wishes for the future.
