It is 10 years since Chestnut Homes stepped in to rescue Boston United during the summer of 2007.

Here we take a look at 10 notable events, one from each season, to celebrate the work undertaken by David Newton and Neil Kempster over the last decade (in reverse order)… #ChestnutTen

3 Club future safeguarded by CVA agreement
The April 2008 visit of Hyde United would not necessarily stick in the minds of Pilgrims’ fans had it not been for a memorable pre-match announcement from chairman David Newton.

Alongside vice-chairman Neil Kempster, he revealed to BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Scott Dalton that agreement had been reached with HMRC to allow the club to continue — and exit the CVA two years early.

Although demotion subsequently followed that summer, the Hyde announcement was another notable milestone in the club’s recovery from the debt-ridden Football League era.

United won 2-1 against Hyde, courtesy of second half goals from Simon Weaver and Jon Froggatt.
