The 21-year-old has joined the Pilgrims on loan until January 4 initially – and will compete with Louis Chadwick for the number one jersey at the Jakemans Community Stadium.

Faxon follows a well-trodden path of talent that has temporarily swapped Bramall Lane for Pilgrim Way over recent years – including the likes of Marcus Dewhurst, Kyron Gordon, Femi Seriki, Jean Leroy Belehouan and Owen Hampson.

He joined the Blades as an eight-year-old and progressed all the way through the system to sign a first pro deal in 2023.
