United braced for crucial six-pointer

United braced for crucial six-pointer

Craig Singleton5 Apr 2015 - 12:00

Boston United face Tamworth in a crucial Vanarama Conference North encounter at The Jakemans Stadium on Easter Monday.

The Pilgrims edged a point in front of the Lambs in the enthralling play-off chase following their 0-0 draw at Oxford City on Saturday, coupled with Tamworth's 1-0 home defeat to Gainsborough Trinity.

The results left the final play-off place in the melting pot with four matches of the season to play.

Andy Morrell's side are winless in their last five away matches and have won just three of their last 10 matches overall, falling from third to sixth as a consequence.

United striker Dayle Southwell is likely to return to the starting XI after being rested against Oxford, while Jake Hall and Jamie McGhee are added to the squad.

Jake Sheridan (hamstring) and Greg Tempest (knee) remain sidelined.

The sides fought out a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture earlier in the season. The last meeting between the sides in Lincolnshire ended 1-0 in United's favour in September 2007.

Easter Monday's match referee is Ollie Yates and kick-off is at 3.00pm.

Match coverage will be available via @bostonunited on Twitter.
