Burdens have provided brand-new, state-of-the-art Dennis machinery for the use of head groundsman Jim Portas at the Jakemans Community Stadium – with the Pilgrims set to play their first match in Wyberton over the coming weeks.

The Pilgrims' new playing surface, which was handed over to United earlier in the summer, is now being given the best attention courtesy of Burdens' fantastic support.

As part of the long-term deal, Burdens branding will appear in the four corners of the stadium – and it is a deal that delighted United club secretary and commercial manager Craig Singleton.

He said: "The support received from Burdens over many years has been exceptional but that has now reached a new level with the extension of our partnership.

"With so much spotlight on the new playing surface, we needed the correct machinery to allow Jim to give the pitch all the care and attention it requires and Burdens have certainly delivered once again.

"I would like to thank Norman Burden, John Southern and their dedicated groundcare team for Burdens' continued support."

John Southern, managing director of Burdens, added: "The Burdens Group have had a long association with the Pilgrims and we are very pleased to be able to continue to support them at their fabulous new stadium. We wish the team well in their new home and hope that they have a successful season."

Dennis sales manager Jason Briggs was also on hand to oversee the arrival of the equipment, which included an appearance from United chairman David Newton.
