United chasing sixth straight success

United chasing sixth straight success

Craig Singleton3 Apr 2015 - 08:00

Boston United face Oxford City at Marsh Lane on Saturday afternoon with a sixth successive victory in their sights.

The Pilgrims, buoyed by five consecutive wins dating back to February 28, face free-scoring City having been beaten 7-2 in the reverse fixture earlier in the campaign.

Oxford harbour slim play-off hopes of their own but are five points behind the Pilgrims, Guiseley and Tamworth in the league standings.

United will check on the fitness of strikers Dayle Southwell and Mark Jones ahead of kick-off, while Jake Sheridan is definitely ruled out with a hamstring strain.

Southwell and Jones were both on target in last weekend’s 2-0 win over Worcester City and will be checked for respective hip and heel problems.

City have enjoyed a good season to date and have been beaten only twice at home in 2015 (by Barrow and Bradford Park Avenue).

Last season’s corresponding fixture finished 1-1, with both goals scored in stoppage time.

Kick-off at Marsh Lane is 3.00pm.
