The Pilgrims will contest their sixth first round encounter in eight campaigns since re-entering the FA Youth Cup — although their only victory to date from five round one encounters arrived in 2004-2005.
On that occasion, goals from James Needham, Luke Forbes and Rob Norris secured an exciting 3-2 win over Northampton Town.
The Pilgrims went on to knock out Huddersfield Town in the second round, before bowing out of the competition to Barnsley at Oakwell in December 2004.
United have already won four encounters in this season’s FA Youth Cup run — their most victories in one single cup campaign.
