United toast new Jakemans deal

Craig Singleton15 May - 09:30

Boston United are thrilled to announce a multi-year sponsorship extension with Jakemans Confectioners.

The new deal will see the Sutterton-based company's name continue to be associated with the Pilgrims' state-of-the-art new stadium on The Quadrant – just as it has been since the doors opened to the public in the summer of 2021.

The Jakemans Community Stadium has become a key part of the town's fabric – and the continuation of the sponsorship will build on the brilliant relations developed between United and Jakemans since the first stand sponsorship at York Street in 2008.

Jakemans were established in 1907 and specialise in quality menthol-based confectionery. In conjunction with their parent company Lanes Health Products, Jakemans are dedicated to the Pilgrims' many and varied community activities which form such an important part of the club's day-to-day outreach.

Reflecting on the news, United chairman David Newton said: "The club has built a very special relationship with the Jakemans brand, and the Jakemans board, over more than 15 years, so I cannot tell you how delighted I am that the relationship will continue for some years to come.

"We have seen Jakemans grow significantly over that time and, of course, we are also delighted to support the other Lanes Health brands where we can. My sincere thanks go to Janet, Jon, Mark and all at Jakemans for their continued support, and we look forward to working with you going forward."

Jon Groves, executive chairman of Lanes Health, added: "It has been a long and happy relationship with Boston United and as a multi-generational family business, we highly value the club's positive commitment and impact to the community that they serve. We are therefore delighted to support and continue to be a part of the club's journey on and off the pitch."

The partnership renewal photograph featured United chairman David Newton, vice-chairman Neil Kempster and commercial manager Craig Singleton, alongside Lanes Health executive chairman Jon Groves, non-executive chairman Janet Groves, operations director Mark Horan, technical director Rachel Davies and financial director Simon Rodger.
