Two goals apiece from Marc Newsham & Mark Jones completed the 4-0 win against the Evo-Stik First Division South side.

United started brightly with Ben Fairclough creating problems for the Lincoln United defence down the right hand side.

United took the lead on 19 minutes when Ben Fairclough drove into the box and was tripped by Stuart Reddington. MARC NEWSHAM stepped up and placed the penalty in the bottom left hand corner past keeper Phil McGann.

Lincoln’s best opportunity came on 27 minutes when Dan Haystead’s clearance found Josh Raby whose effort went just wide.

Ben Fairclough, Spencer Weir-Daley and Ian Ross all created problems for the Whites and United on the stroke of half time went in 2-0 up.

James Reed who regained the ball in his own half drove down the field before giving Ian Ross an opportunity to whip a ball into the box and David Coyde was judged to have hand balled in the area. Up stepped NEWSHAM again to score his second driving the ball straight down the middle of the goal.

United started the second half in control and following a flurry of crosses from Fairclough and Kallum Smith, Ian Ross had an excellent effort from 20 yards out tipped over by keeper McGann.

Manager Jason Lee brought on Mark Jones with half an hour remaining and on 66 minutes an Ian Ross free-kick floated into the box found an oncoming JONES to direct his header into the bottom right hand corner for 3-0.

The victory was completed on 89 minutes when a through ball to MARK JONES saw him slide the ball neatly past keeper McGann for 4-0.

The victory set up a semi-final tie against Stamford AFC.
