Boston United bowed out of the Buildbase FA Trophy after suffering a 2-0 defeat to Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday evening.

The Pilgrims were beaten in the replay at Aggborough after conceding a goal in both halves.

Elton Ngwatala powered the hosts into an 11th minute lead which Joe Ironside doubled 14 minutes after half-time.

United started brightly in Worcestershire and strike duo Kabongo Tshimanga and Reece Thompson combined neatly, with the latter seeing his drive parried by home keeper Brandon Hall.

Hall’s opposite number George Willis saved well to deny Ironside but Kidderminster kept the ball alive and NGWATALA burst into the box to beat the United custodian at his near post to open the scoring.

Willis made decent saves to deny Ryan Croasdale and Sam Austin from distance before the break and then Ironside again shortly afterwards.

United went close when Ashley Hemmings’ curling effort nestled marginally wide from outside the box, but Kidderminster were soon two goals to the good.

James McQuilkin delivered an inviting ball from the left and IRONSIDE arrived on cue to power a close-range header past an exposed Willis.

The hosts had numerous half-chances to add a third goal while United’s best moments in the final third fell to Hemmings and Thompson in the closing stages, but both were denied by the home rearguard.
