Boston United 4-0 East Thurrock United

The Pilgrims were too strong for East Thurrock United at the Jakemans Community Stadium and led 1-0 at half-time courtesy of Elliott's 39th minute opener.

He doubled his own and United's tally from the penalty spot after 65 minutes, with Fraser Preston (69) and Jake Wright Jnr (86) adding classy late finishes.

Johnny Ashman had missed two gilt-edged chances for the visitors early on in proceedings but once United got themselves in front against howling wind and rain, there was no looking back.

Luke Spokes, making his first start in amber and black, teed up ELLIOTT to smash the ball home from close-range six minutes before the break.

ELLIOTT added his second goal in the 65th minute when he coolly converted from the spot after Scott Duxbury had been upended by Tobi Joseph.

United wrapped up their progress with two fine further goals, with Fraser PRESTON curling home a left-footed beauty and then WRIGHT JNR sealing the deal with a dinked fourth after meeting a raking throughball from fellow sub Joe Leesley.
