Sharp shooters Dayle Southwell and Mark Jones enhanced their burgeoning goal tallies to fire Boston United to three points against Harrogate Town.

The Pilgrims made a dismal start at The Jakemans Stadium, falling two goals behind inside five minutes through Louie Swain and Paul Clayton.

Southwell and Jones (twice) struck within a crazy nine-minute spell to turn the tables and Southwell completed his hat-trick with two further goals after the break.

It was United's first home victory over Town at the sixth attempt and only their third in 12 meetings overall against the Yorkshire side.

A Pilgrims' win looked far from probable when Town edged in front after two minutes. Having already seen Jones drift an effort wide following a miscued Peter Crook clearance, United switched off to leave SWAIN bearing down on goal and he finished with aplomb at debutant Max Stryjek's near post.

Worse was to follow for the Pilgrims. With five minutes on the clock, Leigh Franks arrowed in one of his trademark long throw-ins and on-loan Alfreton Town forward CLAYTON sent a back header beyond the reach of Stryjek and into the far corner.

The Pilgrims were subsequently indebted to a terrific block from Carl Piergianni to deny Jordan Thewlis a near certain third before the comeback began on 19 minutes.

Felix motored down the United right, held off the challenge of Swain and delivered for SOUTHWELL to steer the ball home from close-range.

Felix supplied the ammunition for United's leveller too six minutes later. Stryjek freed Kyle Dixon who in turn found Felix and his right-wing cross was chested home by the onrushing JONES.

United needed a good stop from Stryjek to keep out another Thewlis drive and the save proved pivotal with the Pilgrims moving in front in their next attack, with JONES afforded plenty of time to blast the ball home midway inside the Town box.

United were dominant and Crook saved well to deny Dixon and Southwell in quick succession.

The Pilgrims squandered a good chance at the beginning of the second half with Southwell, unmarked, heading Felix's cross over the crossbar from four yards.

United's top scorer was not kept out of the limelight too long though. After Piergianni's header had been fumbled by Crook following Nicky Walker's corner, SOUTHWELL profited on the line to ram home the loose ball.

Jones and Southwell then combined well, with the former's shot charged away by Luke Shiels but United added their points-clinching fifth on 66 minutes. SOUTHWELL sealed his hat-trick with a nonchalant lob over Crook to complete his second hat-trick in United colours.

Southwell prowled for further goals but was denied by Crook and then slammed the rebound wide while Walker did brilliantly to free debutant Louis Saebe, on as an 82nd minute sub, on the right and carried on his run to slam the resulting cross over the bar.

Stryjek was called upon to clutch James Walshaw's curling free-kick in stoppage time, but United's win was long since secure.
