Pollock replaced the injured Brad Abbott after only eight minutes at the Flamingo Land Stadium - and scored five minutes later to hand the Pilgrims the lead for the first time this season.

Lewis Maloney equalised with a brilliant free-kick for the hosts - with both sides subsequently reduced to 10 men when Jaanai Gordon and Ryan Watson received their marching orders.

United manager Paul Cox had opted to make five changes ahead of kick-off - and he was soon forced into a sixth when Abbott limped off with a damaged heel.

Scott POLLOCK was soon booked - and then scored with one of his first touches after tucking home Colin Oppong's cross from the United right in the 13th minute.

The lead lasted only three minutes though - with MALONEY crashing home an unstoppable 22-yard free-kick after Jean Leroy Belehouan had fouled Michael Coulson.

Gordon and Watson were both dismissed following an altercation - with Gordon seemingly penalised for throwing his head and Watson for swinging an arm. Referee Jamie O'Connor had no qualms in producing either card.

Neither keeper was unduly extended until United cranked up the pressure late on - with Joe Cracknell brilliantly denying former Harrogate Town team-mate Joe Leesley in stoppage time, who had also rattled the post earlier on.

Ben Pollock produced a brilliant block to deny home substitute Brad Plant - as honours ended even to prolong United's wait for a win and extend the Seadogs' unbeaten home run dating back to November.
