AFC Telford United 1-2 Boston United

Craig Singleton

Scott Pollock delivered the goods as Boston United made it three wins from three under Ian Culverhouse on Saturday afternoon.

Pollock saw his 57th minute free-kick turned past Telford keeper Luke Pilling by home defender Jordan Piggott - before stealing in to score a header on the hour mark.

Liam Nolan immediately cut the deficit from the penalty spot, but the Pilgrims held on, with Rhys Davies making two excellent saves during a Telford bombardment in the closing stages.

The main talking point of the first half surrounded skipper Luke Shiels succumbing to a hamstring injury, which brought about Jean Leroy Belehouan's introduction from the bench after 16 minutes.

Jake Wright produced a neat piece of skill to pluck the ball from the air and finish with aplomb - but his angled drive was ruled out for offside.

Telford lost their own defensive player to injury on the stroke of half-time when Coventry City loanee George Burroughs left the pitch with a bloodied face.

Scott Pollock lifted an effort over the bar in first half stoppage time, as a low key first half ended with the visitors in the ascendancy.

The Pilgrims took the lead 12 minutes after the break when PIGGOTT diverted Scott Pollock's driven free-kick beyond his own keeper Pilling.

Brad Bood and substitute Harry Flowers subsequently contrived to present Scott POLLOCK with another glorious chance - and United's top scorer swooped to net with a close-range header in the 60th minute.

An otherwise excellent Ben Pollock soon brought Jamie Allen down for a penalty, which NOLAN rammed home down the middle, and Davies was soon called upon to repel Devarn Green's close-range effort.

Flowers headed against the crossbar late on, with Davies tipping over Piggott's follow-up, but the Pilgrims held on to secure their first away win in league action since May.
