Boston United 2-4 Hereford FC

Aaron Amadi-Holloway, Orrin Pendley, Jack Evans and Tyrone Barnett struck between the ninth and 23rd minutes as the Pilgrims slipped to a four-goal deficit for the third time in five home matches so far this season.

Scott Pollock replied twice for the Pilgrims, the first from the penalty spot, but Ian Culverhouse's side were unable to complete a miraculous comeback.

Sam Long was back between the posts for the Pilgrims, while former AFC Telford United midfielder Sam McLintock made his debut for the Pilgrims.

Hereford took a ninth minute lead when AMADI-HOLLOWAY, a striker playing at centre-half, got on the end of Harry Pinchard's corner to divert his header low to Long's right.

They doubled their advantage five minutes later when United failed to clear another Pinchard corner and PENDLEY swooped to stab the ball home from close-range.

Hereford's third goal in the 20th minute had a massive stroke of luck about it, with EVANS seeing his 30-yarder deflect wickedly off Joe Leesley, with the ball looping over a stranded Long.

The Bulls added goal number four three minutes later when Ryan McLean and Thierry Latty-Fairweather combined to lay the ball on a plate for BARNETT to finish at the back post.

United cut the deficit when Scott POLLOCK was fouled head-height by Amadi-Holloway - and the United number 7 calmly rolled home the spot-kick.

Boston enjoyed plenty of possession thereafter - but only had another POLLOCK strike to show for their efforts, with the 76th minute goal offering nothing more than a consolation.

United had a goal chalked off on the hour mark for a questionable offside call against Jaanai Gordon.
