Pollock put the disappointment of his late penalty miss at Peterborough Sports on Saturday to one side by handing United a 28th minute lead from the spot - only for debutant Tom Nixon to inadvertently draw Kidderminster level with an own goal five minutes later.
Pollock won it for the Pilgrims eight minutes after half-time following a fantastic throughball from Tom Solanke.
United suffered an early blow when Jean Leroy Belehouan clashed heads with Amari Morgan-Smith. He was initially able to continue - but succumbed in the 16th minute, with Will Atkinson deputising from the bench and Lebrun Mbeka dropping into the back four.
Former United favourite Shane Byrne soon limped out of contention with a back spasm - and it was Jake Wright who blazed across goal and wide with the game's first notable chance soon afterwards.
United took the lead when Krystian Pearce was penalising for grappling with Mbeka - and POLLOCK crashed the spot-kick down the middle to banish the demons from Peterborough Sports only days earlier.
Kidderminster levelled five minutes later when NIXON, stretching to clear Joe Foulkes' probing cross from the right, could only divert the ball into the top corner of his own net.
The Pilgrims re-asserted their lead in the 53rd minute when Solanke dissected the visiting defence to allow POLLOCK to run on and beat Tom Palmer with a drive that the Kidderminster stopper will perhaps feel he should have done better with.
Nixon made a brilliant block to deny ex-Pilgrim Yusifu Ceesay at the other end, while Pollock slammed an effort off target and was then denied by a Tom Leak block as he burst into the area.
