The Pilgrims swept aside already-relegated AFC Telford United at the Jakemans Community Stadium, who only hit back in stoppage time through Lewis Salmon.

Wright and Mills had the Pilgrims in control at the break and Chadwick and Thorndike concluded impressive loan spells with goals after half-time.

United boss Ian Culverhouse had been pressed into two changes ahead of kick-off, with first choice full-backs Tom Nixon (suspension) and Ethan Sephton (injury) both ruled out. Sam McLintock and Keenan Ferguson were their direct replacements, with Mills dropping in at right-back.

Chances were few and far between during a tight first half in the only match in the division with nothing riding on it at kick-off.

The Pilgrims took a 40th minute lead when Mills and Will Atkinson combined down the right - with the latter crossing for WRIGHT to power home a close-range header.

A flowing move in first half stoppage time saw the Pilgrims add their second goal - with MILLS lifting home a rising effort from 18 yards after being heavily involved earlier in the sequence of play.

United suffered a blow after the break when goalkeeper Cameron Gregory was forced off after taking a blow to the head - with 17-year-old Jake Lovelace making his senior debut from the bench.

The Pilgrims stretched their lead in the 70th minute with CHADWICK sailing home a fine left-footer after working a yard of space in the Telford box.

THORNDIKE added goal number four, three minutes from time, after a mazy, crossfield run and low drive beyond Joe Young.

Telford netted a consolation in stoppage time when substitute SALMON advanced into the penalty area and rolled home a low drive at Lovelace's near post.
