Dayle Southwell, Carl Piergianni and Ryan Robbins scored the goals as Boston United recovered from three losing positions on Tuesday evening.

The Pilgrims trailed to strikes from Jerry Yates, Dominic Knowles and Louie Swain but Southwell, Piergianni and Robbins cancelled out each respective goal.

Henrich Ravas also saved a Knowles penalty when Harrogate Town led 2-1 to keep the Pilgrims in the contest.

The 1,074 in attendance at The Jakemans Stadium were treated to a barn-storming affair and both sides could legitimately make a real case for claiming all three points.

Rotherham United loanee Yates had the first sight of goal in the third minute, wriggling through to poke wide of the far post from 20 yards.

Ravas made an excellent low save to keep out Swain's low drive after Lloyd Kerry had assisted from the Town right but Harrogate were in front from the resulting 10th minute flag-kick. Joe Colbeck's corner was headed goalwards by Knowles and touched home on the line by YATES.

United's first meaningful opportunity arrived when Southwell was denied well by Peter Crook at the near post following a forceful run from United's top scorer.

Ravas was forced to save at close-range to deny Yates who then lashed the rebound well wide before United levelled nine minutes before the break.

Dylan McEvoy's deep free-kick was headed on by Piergianni and nodded home at Crook's near post by ex-Town loanee SOUTHWELL.

The Pilgrims had a let-off in the first minute of the second half when Ravas skewed his clearance straight to Knowles, who rattled the post from 25 yards.

Kaine Felix made his long-awaited return from injury on 56 minutes, with Robbins coming on too, but United found themselves trailing again a minute later.

A raking ball over the top found KNOWLES and he did the rest with a cool and composed finish from inside the box.

Town had a golden opportunity to kill the contest when Piergianni was harshly adjudged to have fouled Lewis Turner in the box, but Ravas saved brilliantly, low to his right, to thwart Knowles from the spot.

United levelled for a second time when Jordan Richards did brilliantly to retrieve a deep corner and crossed for PIERGIANNI to score his fifth goal in five games.

Parity lasted four minutes following another rapid break from Town. Knowles swept the ball across for SWAIN to finish with aplomb past Ravas from close-range.

An unsighted Crook made a magnificent save to deny Southwell his second of the night before United added their third goal with eight minutes to play. Substitute Kyle Dixon rolled the ball through for ROBBINS who forced it over the line on the angle.

Late drama unfolded with Richards rattling the post for United and Ravas subsequently saving with his legs to deny sub Paul Clayton, but both sides were eventually forced to settle for a point apiece in an absorbing encounter.
