The Pilgrims were the better side before the break, as Billy Rowley made his managerial bow for the hosts, but Yeovil quickly took control after half-time with two goals from Luke McCormick.

Hill struck five minutes from time - but the Pilgrims were unable to force a leveller at the end of a winless November.

United boss Graham Coughlan handed debuts to on-loan Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Killian Barrett and newest recruit Adam Crowther, on loan from Southend United.

United's first half good work was undone within eight minutes of the restart when McCORMICK stabbed home from close-range after substitute Michee Efete had skipped clear of Matty Carson to deliver from the Town right.

Jordy Hiwula was soon thrown on as United changed shape - but Yeovil ultimately clinched the points with another McCORMICK strike 11 minutes from time.

HILL reduced the arrears with five minutes to play, after Greg Sloggett had kept the ball alive, but the Pilgrims were unable to muster a grandstand finale.
