The Pilgrims twice fought back - initially through Cursons' bullet seven minutes before half-time after Olly Sanderson had handed the Cards a third minute lead.

Sanderson touched his second moments before the break but Maguire levelled in the 63rd minute having rattled the crossbar moments earlier - to extend United's unbeaten run to eight matches in the process.

United boss Paul Hurst had opted to hand on-loan goalkeeper Dan Cameron his debut, while fellow newcomer Luca Barrington started on the bench.

Cameron made a terrific save to deny Aiden O'Brien inside three minutes, but SANDERSON was on hand to steer home the rebound from close-range, having already seen Harry Beautyman whistle a first minute effort over the crossbar.

United responded positively, with Ken Aboh's low drive flashing wide of Will Jaaskelainen's post, while Jordy Hiwula was denied by a stunning goalline block from Chin Okoli.

Sanderson nodded wide on the end of Beautyman's left-wing cross, but the Pilgrims levelled in the 38th minute when CURSONS crashed home a stunner after Woking had failed to clear their lines following an initial Aboh attack.

Woking re-established their lead six minutes later when O'Brien drove towards goal before seeing his effort deflect off SANDERSON and wrong-foot a stranded Cameron. Joe Gbode had created the opening with a powerful burst from his own half.

The Pilgrims equalised 18 minutes after the break. Having seen his first effort come back off the crossbar, the ball was won back by Jordan Richards, with MAGUIRE steering home an angled drive to restore parity.

Tunji Akinola produced a tremendous block to deny Cursons, while Matty Carson and Aboh link-up play saw the ball bundled wide by debutant Barrington, but the Pilgrims found Woking a tough nut to crack during the closing stages and were unable to force a winner.
