Tom Cursons got the Pilgrims in front after 26 minutes with his first goal of the season and although their goal lived a charmed life after the break, it looked like the visitors would hold on for a brilliant three points.

However, Matt Rush equalised in the 85th minute and then struck the winning goal three minutes later following Regan Booty's quick free-kick.

Paul Hurst had opted to make one change to his XI ahead of kick-off, with Jake Rooney preferred to Terrell Agyemang in midfield.

Early chances were at a premium, with Zak Brunt firing a fifth minute effort over the bar from 25 yards.

The Pilgrims edged in front in the 26th minute when Ken Aboh threaded CURSONS through and he produced a composed finish to beat Tottenham Hotspur loanee Luca Gunter.

Louis Chadwick made a great save to deny Rush in response, although a goal-kick was incorrectly awarded.

The hosts came out early for the second period, undoubtedly with manager Luke Garrard's words ringing in their ears, and they dominated the ball after the break as chances arrived at regular intervals.

Chadwick produced top saves to deny Rush and Lewis Richardson, while the United backline put their bodies on the line to keep Wood at bay.

The equaliser finally arrived with five minutes to play when Brunt flicked the ball round the corner for RUSH to angle a low finish past Chadwick.

A quick free-kick routine was United's undoing two minutes from time when Booty cleverly freed RUSH to blast home the game's winning goal and break Boston hearts in the process.
