The Pilgrims were sluggish before half-time and trailed bottom side Gateshead to former United striker Jordy Hiwula's fine 36th minute finish.

United were much-improved after the break and eventually levelled through Cursons in the 79th minute, following excellent play from fellow sub Jack Holmes. Cursons subsequently won the contest for the Pilgrims with a driven finish five minutes into stoppage time - sparking delirium around the Jakemans Community Stadium.
