Joe Maguire scored his first goal for Boston United as his side fought back to share the spoils on a sodden afternoon against Kidderminster Harriers.

United trailed to an unfortunate own goal from debutant Joe Robinson after just three minutes and rode their luck at times as the visitors threatened to extend their lead.

Robinson's heroics in particular kept the Pilgrims alive and defensive partner Maguire powered home a defining header six minutes from time.

The Ipswich Town loanee made his debut alongside Maguire and had already cleared a Mani Dieseruvwe effort off the line before inadvertently giving the visitors the lead.

Zaine Francis-Angol crossed from the left and ROBINSON was only able to divert the loose ball beyond keeper Christian Dibble.

United responded with Maguire’s fierce free-kick being beaten to safety by Harriers’ stopper Sam Hornby.

Dibble excelled to deny Tyrell Waite and Arthur Gnahoua before the break as the visitors’ strong start continued.

Kidderminster could have wrapped up the points on the hour mark when Elton Ngwatala’s header came back off the post and two ferocious drives from James McQuilkin were both repelled bravely by Robinson.

Robinson later made a stunning block to deny McQuilkin once again, while Gregg Smith did likewise to thwart Keith Lowe.

United introduced Lewis Hilliard and Spanish debutant Antonio Alcaraz Zamora with 20 minutes to play as Dennis Greene rolled his dice.

The Pilgrims levelled when MAGUIRE rose highest to power home Hilliard’s pinpoint free-kick delivery.

Maguire was subsequently denied a winning goal by a fabulous Lowe block in the final minute of normal time.
