Boston United 2-1 FC United of Manchester
Gavin Allott and Nicky Walker added to their burgeoning goal tallies as Boston United chalked up three valuable points on Saturday afternoon.
The Pilgrims came from a goal behind to defeat FC United of Manchester at The Jakemans Stadium, who had led through Chris Sharp's eighth minute strike.
Allott equalised nine minutes later with his seventh goal of the campaign and he turned provider for Walker to score his eighth of the season 17 minutes after half-time.
The Pilgrims’ afternoon had got off to the worst possible start when Michael Donohue crossed from the left and SHARP slammed home a thunderous effort beyond the reach of George Willis.
United levelled in the 17th minute when Ben Davies delivered a pinpoint free-kick delivery and ALLOTT powered a header through the grasp of visiting keeper Lloyd Allinson.
Brad Abbott soon threaded a neat throughball into the path of Jay Rollins and he was only denied by a sprawling Allinson save.
The Pilgrims went in front in the 62nd minute when WALKER freed Allott down the left before advancing to sweep home the resulting cross from six yards.
Allott provided more ammunition from the left, with Nicky Wroe and Max Wright both being denied by heroic visiting blocks
Willis made a decent stop to deny Zehn Mohammed, while Billy Sass-Davies cleared off the line to thwart Allott at the other end.
Willis had to save from Dale Whitham’s header in virtually the last act of the game as the Pilgrims were able to celebrate an overdue maximum points haul on their own turf.
