Boston United 1-3 AFC Fylde

Jake Wright Jnr's fourth minute strike set the Pilgrims rolling - but their afternoon began to unravel when Tom Platt was forced off with injury and Shane Byrne netted an unfortunate own goal.

Sam Osborne won it for the Coasters with goals at either end of the second half.

United's afternoon had got off to a brilliant start - with Byrne winning possession high up and playing in WRIGHT JNR with a sublime throughball, with the Pilgrims' Number 10 doing the rest with a precise finish.

The home side lost the services of influential performer Platt after 12 minutes - and his replacement Andi Thanoj soon saw a drive blocked from a Byrne corner.

Fylde levelled in the 25th minute when BYRNE turned the ball into his own net, under considerable pressure from Douglas Taylor, following Tom Walker's cross from the right.

Visiting keeper Bobby Jones made a flying stop to deny ex-Coaster Scott Duxbury moments before half-time.

Fylde edged ahead five minutes after the break when United failed to clear their lines and OSBORNE arrowed home a low effort from inside the area.

United were denied a penalty when Jones cleaned out Seriki at head height - with the Boston man requiring lengthy treatment for a blood injury.

Duxbury headed narrowly wide from a late Joe Leesley corner, but the Coasters wrapped up all three points as OSBORNE zig-zagged through a tiring United defence to put the issue beyond doubt.
