Boston United suffered a crushing blow in their pursuit of a play-off place as Gloucester City nicked a last-gasp equaliser on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Pilgrims had looked set to claim all three points at the Jakemans Community Stadium courtesy of Danny Elliott's first half opener.

City had other ideas, however, and substitute Lucas Tomlinson netted a dramatic leveller in the fourth and final minute of stoppage time.

The Tigers belied their lowly league standing with a first half display full of verve - and Marcus Dewhurst made fine saves to deny Ollie Hulbert and Fabien Robert either side of United's 20th minute opener.

Shane Byrne delivered a free-kick which was forced across goal by Luke Shiels and turned home from close-range by ELLIOTT.

The Pilgrims had already lost the services of defender Brad Nicholson to a knee injury - with Jake Wright Jnr thrown on from the bench in a change of shape to 4-3-3.

Fraser Preston curled an effort wide after the break, while visiting keeper Harvey Wiles-Richards was all the way behind a Brad Abbott drive - and Byrne drove an effort on to the roof of the Gloucester net.

With United seemingly home and hosed, Daniel Leadbitter was allowed to carry the ball forward down the City right - and TOMLINSON applied the finishing touch from close-range to silence the vast majority of those in attendance for the stadium's biggest gate so far.
