Full-back Conor Marshall joined Boston United in January 2012 from Evo-Stik Division One South outfit Brigg Town. The right-sided defender had been in impressive form for the Zebras after joining Brigg from Grimsby Town earlier in the campaign. Marshall was close to being awarded a professional contract by Grimsby bosses Rob Scott and Paul Hurst in the summer of 2011, but he was released from Blundell Park at the end of August. He signed a new deal at The Jakemans Stadium in May 2012 — and again in July 2013. Converted to a central midfield player during the 2013-2014 campaign, he agreed to spend a further year at the club in the simmer of 2014.
