Striker JACOB HAZEL joined the Pilgrims for an undisclosed fee from National League North rivals Darlington in November 2023. He quickly went on to become a firm fans' favourite as the Pilgrims ultimately prevailed through the play-offs to earn an overdue promotion to the National League. Hazel sustained a broken foot in February 2024, but returned for the run-in and scored penalties in both play-off shootouts against Alfreton Town and Scunthorpe United. He was the Pilgrims’ top goalscorer in the National League in 2024-2025, with 16 strikes, but sustained a serious knee injury in United’s penultimate fixture to remain sidelined at the start of 2025-2026.
