Defender SCOTT GARNER joined Boston United on a long-term loan deal from Cambridge United in July 2013 — and soon extended the arrangement until the end of the season. After beginning his career as a trainee at Leicester City, Garner made his mark during a spell with Ilkeston Town, before securing moves to Conference clubs Mansfield Town and Grimsby Town. He joined Cambridge in 2012 but played only five matches for the U's before moving to Lincoln City on loan for the remainder of the 2012-2013 campaign. He signed a new two-year contract in the summer of 2014 after netting eight times in 44 appearances for the Pilgrims in 2013-2014. After spells with FC Halifax Town and Guiseley, Garner returned to the club in January 2020 – penning a two-and-a-half year deal in the process.
