Tom James struck for the Pilgrims, but United were beaten 7-1 at the International Stadium.
United concluded 2011 with only four points to their credit from eight matches contested.
The Pilgrims started well enough but found themselves trailing 2-0 at half-time. They also lost the services of injured full-back Niall Delahoy.
JAMES reduced the deficit seven minutes into the second half with a rising volley into the top corner, but the Pilgrims crumbled thereafter to concede five second half goals as fatigue from a mammoth day on the road set in.
Boston (4-4-2): Marc Hipwell; Niall Delahoy (Scott Langan 39), Jordan Lote, Jordan Nuttell, Todd Devlin (Charlie Rossington 50); Joe Briers, James Reed, Jake Beauchamp, Tom James; Charley Sanders, James Tricks.
